Juicing Raw Cannabis & Hemp

Juicing Raw Cannabis

Should Cannabis be labeled as a super food?

Cannabis and hemp have gone main stream and is now getting the attention that it deserves as a potent super food and plant based supplement.

We are finally in a place where we are able to share information and research about this plant’s true potential. Due to Hemp’s new legal status and medical marijuana law changes throughout many states in the USA, more and more people are gaining access to the cannabis plant in ways that were not possible in the past.

Many states now allow for the home cultivation of cannabis, which gives consumers the ability to access all parts of the plant.

Cannabis consumers are familiar with the use of dried, cured cannabis flower or buds. But today, more and more people have access to raw cannabis in the form of living plants, fan leaves, sugar leaves, raw flower buds, fresh trim, roots, and leaves, bringing to light a new widespread acceptance of the plant and its various uses including juicing.

Even though the dietary use of the raw cannabis plant has been used for thousands of years, researchers are just beginning to explore the powerful health benefits of the cannabis plant in its raw form and we are beginning to understand how it may play a vital role in the realm of plant-based nutrition and overall health.

Just like wheatgrass, kale and other fresh greens are juiced for their nutrients, fresh cannabis is also full of nutrients and brings with it unique compounds with powerful benefits that you can’t get from conventional ways of consuming cannabis.

Below are some of the benefits from juicing raw cannabis:

  • Considered one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet, fresh, raw cannabis contains unique acidic and non-acidic cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, antioxidants, amino acids, chlorophyll, vitamins, fiber, protein, and nutrients believed to contribute towards health maintenance and restoration which are usually lost in traditional decarb and extraction processes.
  • Good source for vitamin C, K, calcium, and folate believed to support the body in repairing its DNA.
  • Researchers are finding that raw cannabinoids activate the endocannabinoid system more effectively than dried, cured, or heated / smoked cannabis. Some researchers believe it is 1 thousand times more potent than CBD or THC alone.
  • Although Hemp and CBD is not psychoactive in its raw or non-acidic forms, even cannabis that is high in THC is non psychoactive in its raw form because THC acid has not yet converted to the psychoactive cannabinoid, THC.

Consumption Methods:

Unfortunately, not everyone has access to fresh, raw cannabis flowers and leaves.

The best way to get your daily dose of fresh, raw cannabis is to grow it yourself.

Unfortunately not everyone lives in a state where it is legal to grow cannabis or hemp for personal use. For this reason, AVA Wellness has created products that maintain the live plant’s natural compounds in the product making it easy for consumers to benefit from the whole plant in its raw, natural state.

If you are able to legally access fresh, raw cannabis leaves and flower buds, then we have some recipes for you to try below!

First you will need a juicer or blender.

The preferred method would be to use masticating juice press but if you don’t have access to one, you can use a blender, strain the juice and it’s ready to drink!

Any leftover juice can be stored in the refridgerator for a maximum of 3 days or freezer for a maximum of 7 days.
